Discussion: what are your thoughts on texturizers?

In the natural hair community, relaxers are usually frowned on. I'll be honest and admit that I usually feel a bit disappointed whenever I see someone relax their hair after years of being natural but at the end of the day, it's their choice.

While relaxers chemically straighten your hair, texturizers don't get rid of your curls, they loosen your curl pattern. Now look, as I've said before, taking care of curly hair is no joke! The curly life isn't for everyone.

I'm still not sure how I personally feel about texturizers...What's your opinion? If you have a texturizer, why did you decide to get it? Do you regret it? Let's discuss in the comments.
